3 Explain the poverty line, episodic poverty, and the supplemental poverty measurement. (Chapter 2.1).
4 Use the three sociological theories to argue against the notion that poor people are “lazy” and “lack motivation.” Guiding questions: Who make up the poor? How does stratification impact our society? (Chapter 2.2 & 2.3).
