I’m working on a Twitter exercise and need support.

Hello there,

I need help writing a draft introduction paragraph with a thesis and it will be better to read the instruction below.

The title of the essay is “Of Two Tongues: The Bilingual Education Debate” (I will have the articles in the bottom below the description of the draft introduction paragraph.

Your thesis statement is your paper’s main claim. Let’s develop your main claim. Since all academic writing is a conversation, please identify the articles to which you are primarily responding. Next, write three different versions of your main claim. Afterward, describe which claim you think is the strongest and express any concerns you have about your claim.

Your assignment is to write a draft introduction paragraph. The introduction paragraph is the first section of an essay (Introduction, Body Paragraphs, Conclusion). The introduction paragraph should succinctly introduce the debate you are entering from the readings and should also contain your thesis or main claim. For additional information, see “Directions for Assignment” below the lecture.

here are the articles:

Of Two Tongues: The Bilingual Education Debate

National University is primarily located in California, a state where there is a very large percentage of bilingual students. In fact, many of you in this class may be bilingual yourself or have parents who speak a language other than English as their primary language. Did you or someone you know participate in bilingual education? Did you find it educationally valuable to learn in your native tongue while you learned English? Of course, you do not need to be bilingual yourself to care about this issue. Bilingual education is a major debate in education circles itself. It is also a broader, national debate that asks to what extent our society should encourage enculturation of non-English speaking immigrants into broader American culture. As a nation of immigrants, we all likely should have an opinion on this issue.
