Starts Feb 17, 2020 10:30 AMEnds Mar 2, 2020 11:30 PM
On the www.firearmsID.com web site, there is a section in which a virtual microscope can be used to observe fired bullets. Instructions on how to enter the FirearmsID.com classroom will be placed into the Reading area. Comparisons can be made between known samples and unknown samples. You will be responsible for making comparisons of the four known bullets to the four unknown bullets in Bullet Test #2. You will have to index the bullets correctly and determine which unknown bullet matches the known bullet. Before attempting stage 2 of the final project, you will first need to practice using the software, as it does take some time to get acquainted with using it. Your practice will be on Bullet Test #1. There will be a conference set up for you in which to discuss your practice, including problems and help for each other.
You will need to take notes as you perform your analysis of Bullet Test #2. Your grade will be based on your correct identification score, as recorded by FirearmsID.com and your notes, which must be submitted for credit.
In the link below is a Word document that explains how to document your notes for the bullet comparison.
